The application includes a streamlined gradebook that combines elegance with functionality that can reduce the amount of time required to grade student work. LearnBoost also includes lesson plan building and management features so teachers can schedule their classes and work through material effectively. LearnBoost is also compatible with Google applications such as Google Calendar and Gmail. Educators can use LearnBoost with the confidence of SSL security to keep website viewing to those who are authorized. LearnBoost is available in more then 70 languages. The application also contains a translation option that allows users to translate text into their native language.

LearnBoost was created to help educators do what they do better. LearnBoost is an autonomous, venture funded start-up based out of San Francisco, California. The founders include Rafael Corrales, Thianh Lu and Guillermo Rauch. The current LearnBoost team also includes developers Aaron Heckmann, TJ Holowaychuk, Development Specialist Damian Suarez and Meredith Ely.

The stylish LearnBoost website invites users with a colorful compass icon that accentuates the website’s logo. The soft blue background and black header bar create an eye-catching contrast that gives the site a professional, yet enlightened appearance. Users can navigate using easily accessible buttons found across the top of the homepage. Each form and tool included in LearnBoost is very well organized and includes no clutter. Small hints of lime green are used to help highlight options and add a little flavor to the site’s welcoming color scheme.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can create a LearnBoost account by clicking on the blue “Sign Up” button found at the top, right corner of the homepage. The short registration form can be found along the right hand side of the following page under the green “Sign Up” banner. The form requires a first and last name, email address and password. A check box at the bottom automatically signs the user up to receive LearnBoost news and updates. This must be manually unchecked to opt out. A note at the bottom of the form advises the user that by submitting their information they are agreeing to the site’s terms of service.
